a woman has potentially been brutally murdered in glasgow and all people are saying to me is ‘well she shouldn’t have been out alone that late at night’, ‘did she have no common sense?’, 'why did she leave the club without informing anyone?’
instead of all this victim blaming, why aren’t we asking questions like ‘why did he do it?’, ‘did he have any previous offenses? why hasn’t he been caught before?’ ‘what made him want to be like that?’
it’s a horrible horrible thing to have happened, but when people are blaming the poor girl for being killed and now other women around her age are terrified of going OUTSIDE, it’s a real shame that this is the way our society is.
